Getting 2 amps and maybe an effect?

Postby Derekslide » Tue Nov 04, 2008 11:54 pm

Hey gang.

I'm buying 2 amps in 2 months I've picked out The Roland cube 60 and the Roland Cube micro street busking amp, But I was planing on buying 1 $125 dollar effect but I don't know what it is called.

It sounds sweet you play a note and you hear the note.

What effect is this?

:wha: Uhhh, what? No matter what pedals you use, you're going to hear the note if you hit it.

I see you've never used a volume pedal and tilted it off then, young grasshopper.

It is the "Sound of one hand clapping"-3000 Deluxe pedal.

I guess I didn't stop and think about that one Rusty.

And yes Derek, that is a delay pedal.

Will that and a chorus pedal make for a pretty sweet melody maker tone?

Do you have a guitar center around your house anywhere?

Most GCs I've been to have all of the Boss pedals lined up next to one another, and you can go test all of them out. It's pretty cool because you can try any combination. I recommend going to scope it out and then you can really get a taste of what's good and what's not.

No but there is Marshalls that has a boss display that's all lined up with the pedals for you to try.

Go check it out. You can mix all the effects and find a tone that suits you. It's my favorite thing to do when I go to GC.

They hate me when I go up to that display at GC. I fiddle around for a while, usually with a LOT of reverb, a bit of tremolo, and some decent overdrive, maybe play a few Slayer riffs, then turn the delay on, turn the feedback knob all the way up so it starts to oscillate, turn the delay volume down to a point where it's still audible, but not quite identifiable, then I walk away and watch the employees figure out what's making that noise.

Yes, I'm an ass.

Well, most of the guys who work at Guitar Centers are asses too. There's a guy at the Guitar Center in Lynwood, Wa. who would follow me everywhere I went when I went in there. He creeped me out. He was like 6' 5" and had a long black hair, and his whole demeanor was just really odd. No matter where I would be in the store he would be close to me watching me. I think he was trying to make sure I don't break anything or something.

Then of course there are the asses at GC that won't let me play the expensive guitars on the walls because I'm 18. I know that has to be the whole reason why they won't get any really nice ones down for me.

Weird because there has never been a a place I didn't go in to and ask for help and I got it.

And at the guitar center I was at I had a choice ti play any of the guitars that were hanging on the wall's plus he raised my action for me and gave me a free set of dattro's 9's. Maybe I'm just lucky right?
