AmpliTube2 Review + Soundclip

Postby grady » Fri Sep 26, 2008 10:54 pm

I recorded a clip using AmpliTube2 and uploaded it to

http://www.soundclick.com/loops4u
http://myspace.com/loops4u

All I did was record a clip using my Valley Arts Tele and AmpliTube2
I didn't add any effects, didn't master the recording.
I just converted the track to a MP3 and uploaded it.
This is a true representation of how AmpliTube2 sounds.

Let me know what you think.

Grady, I wasn't knocked out by the first and third parts, but the middle one was much more to my liking and I dug the tone and overall blues feel. It had a nice bouquet of swampiness without being cloy or pretentious. That's just more my own preference. I much prefer a raw sound with a touch of tube overdrive without being overgainy. Nicely done sir.

Cheers, TB.

Thanks TB.
My only purpose for recording this clip was to show how AmpliTube2 sounds.
I really didn't pay much attention to what I played.
I just tried to let Chords ring a little and hit a few little licks to show how the software sounds.

I think AmpliTube2 is a great-sounding software.
I have all of the Amp simulation Software packages that are on the market.
I like AmpliTube2 the most.

I listened to em and I think they sound great. That seems like a really good program. One of my friends has something similar and he records some really cool stuff with it. It's amazing what you can do with it and how you can change the tones.

Thanks Lefty,

The beginning of the clip is the Neck pickup (Seymour Duncan Vintage Stack) and the 2nd part is the Bridge pickup (DiMarzio Virtual Hot T).
In the software, I'm using a virtual Tube Screamer for OverDrive.

Dude..software and me just don't get along and I have decided to just roll with it. I had an old Fostex 4 channel I used to use and got rid of it. Me so stupid! Now when I record on my Tascam its like I'm one of the guys walking through the woods on that TV show.."Land of the Giants."

BTW...Skins are goin' down!! How 'bout them Cowboys!

Cheers, TB.

I have a Tascam DP-1FX I have been tinkering with. I can mix down on the unit and burn to CD. I use AT 2021& 2022 mics. My problem is I am never satisfied with the sound of my voice so am constantly tossing stuff out. I need to get a Soundclick account to upload but not today...cooking up habanero hot sauce and bottling it up, then making green chili cheese soup as I have a dentist appt. on Tues that afterward I'll be eating through a straw for a day or two. While all that's going on I have slab of chilean coho I'm going to pan sear and top with a 57 and honey sauce. As you can guess, I'm moled up and burrowed in the blues kitchen.

Cheers, TB.

I want some of that stuff. There's never any hot sauce that's too hot in my book! Hot sauce is good on just about everything. Especially on eggs in the morning. Oooh, and it's awesome on pizza.

Is it your own recipe?

I use a Mackie Mixer board into my Computer's line in jack.
I plug my guitar straight into the Mixer board.
