Hi Slick
My arm is amputed just above the elbow. Having that elbow makes a huge difference in what you can do with or without a prosthetic arm. But if I had an elbow I'd just want a "little" more forearm and then maybe a wrist. Whats a wrist without a couple of fingers. There's just no pleasing me is there.
Slick I need to get some pics up of the contraption that attaches to my arm. It is made from 3/32" brake tubing held on with one of those straps that people wear for tennis elbow. I started out with it stick out and angled to mirror my left arm. That length was just too unwieldy and responded too slowly. What I have now is just past the end of my arm. Around where the ball is in your elbow joint. It is much more natural feeling and I'm getting to where I can even hit individual notes occasionally.
I have a dozen or so open chords that I can play with a basic strum pattern, not having to look at my fretting hand much.
Here's a question for you and anyone else that might drop by. I can't figure out barre chords. If you lay the guitar on your lap, left hand fretting how would you play one. Spanish style the index finger is closet to the nut and you would basically have a moveable nut. But my way the index finger is furthest from the nut.
Any ideas? Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?
Jack
