If you don't have access or funds for NOS, I had a full set of JJ's in my 30 and they really warmed it up over the Sovtek it came with. Right this minute it has 3 NOS 12ax7's RCA's from late 50's early 60's and JJ's EL 84 in the power section. Poor girls not getting much work since I bought the vintage Super Reverb. Good luck with your search.

I buy the Russian 6P14P in bulk directly from over there. That's what every American tube dealer except JJ does, then they scrub off the Russian markings, stamp on their own and claim they're custom made. Oh yeah, then they mark the price way up. The JJs are Slovakian. I've got enough Russian EL84s to last me many years.

Another vote for JJ's from me, although I did have a 12AX7 that leaked grid current and caused a noisy volume pot (I excluded everything else, and replaced the tube - and when I did the noise had gone!)
