I thought you had a VJH. Btw, I did some research on that Tubulator and took the plunge. If you can call spending 11.99 on MF a plunge.

O.K. With my VJ Head it works like this. Distortion pedal with the gain about 2 oclock for low volume. If I crank the amp, I back off on the pedal's gain letting the amp do more of the the distorting on it's own. I use my ears to find the sweet spot. If I were to play out with this thing, I would find the perfect combo between amp volume and pedal gain and then mic it from there. I'm with Grady. God created amplifiers. Shure made them equal. Well, something like that.
