I'm thinking about trying out the Gibson 57 Classic's. Anyone else use/used them? What do you think?

I think they do the PAF 'thang better than BB's. I've played a few LP's with the '57's and think they are a good bang for the buck. If money isn't an issue, Throback SLE 101's with A5's are killer. Then again, it depends what guitar you want to throw them in.

I put them in my Epi LP....gives it more spunk. I put a plus at the bridge.

I've never A/B'd them but wasn't a great fan of the guitars I've played (briefly) with them. Certainly better for blues/jazz than Gibson's higher output designs.

There wasn't only a single PAF...
The '57s are designed around the PAF specification, which is the ballpark the real ones played in, but tolerances were loose.
