Unique Les Paul Studio. What year?

I have a black les paul studio that I bought from a buddy for $800. It has the gloss finish, archtop, & gold hardware.
It also has dot inlays on the fretboard and a very fat neck (I love it)
It has no binding
It is also in really great condition, just a few very small dings and no fret wear.
I have not weighed it but I have held quite a few Les Pauls in my life and it is definitely one of the heavy ones.

Does anybody know what year it may have came out of? My buddy bought it from his uncle in 2004. I'm guessing it is from the 90's?

Sorry if the Subject name is misleading. It may not be unique at all. I just cannot find any others that have all the same traits but then again I haven't checked super thoroughly.

IIRC, Gibson made the Studio with dot fret markers in the 90's. You can contact Gibson with your serial number and they will tell when it was made. Or you can use this. http://www.guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx

I have a friend with the same guitar. Can't remember when it was made, though he bought it new in the late 90s, early 2000s.

Probably early 90's Studio

Look at serial number year is first and fifth number ie: 9134602 would be a 96 model

Thanks for the help guys! I found out it is a 96'
It's definitely one of the best feeling, playing, and sounding Les Pauls I've ever played. Mind you I've probably only played around 20-ish.
Thanks again!
