Does anyone know what this is? I bought it 2nd hand in 1969 for $75. I was in college and on a tight budget.I played it a lot untill I could afford something better. Its still original and playable.I think it was made by Ibanez but the name on the headstosk says Ralston. It looks like the Ibanez logo on the whammy bar.
Thanks,
Hooker

It was probably made either in the Matsumoku factory (Epiphone, Greco, etc) or in the Hoshino Gakki factory (Ibanez). Probably the latter based on what you say about the tailpiece. Looks nice, though. Some of those old Japanese guitars are awesome.

I have a Matsumoku Silvertone Gretsch copy that was made in 1969 that is awesome. I changed a few things, though. Didn't dig the pickups and the original tailpiece was a bit buggered. I sunk a tune-o-matic into the top, too. The neck is really small on mine, though, so I'll be building a replacement at some point.
