Tab Software question - open tunings?

Hi folks,
I use Open D tuning for most of my Dobro playing. I am looking into Tab software programs to help me learn new songs, and to print out and organize my tabs.

I like coming up with solo dobro arrangements for classic rock songs, blues and such. Since most of that is in standard tuning, I usually just reference the chords as my starting point (from Fake books or web sites or whatever) then dork around in Open D using those same chords, trying to fill melody notes in by experimentation. Sometimes I change keys if it helps me take advantage of open strings better.

It would be VERY cool if I could just download a standard tuning tab into a software program and have it spit out an Open D version of the tab. I could use that as my starting point. I do that by hand sometimes - seems there's gotta be a software program that can do that...

Can anyone point me to a tab program that can do this?

Hi 5_iron (I guess you must be a golfer!).
Have a look through this link for something that may suit you. ... uitar.html
If you also want a free program similar to Guitar Pro (but not as fully featured yet) then Tux Guitar is available for download on the 'net, and it's Windows friendly too (plus reads and writes GP files).
You can get it here ... /tuxguitar
Hope some of this helps.

Thanks Godinguy for that link. It looks like guitar pro might do says it can work with any custom tuning.

Yep - i do chop up the fairways now and then. :)
