Weber Silver Ten Speaker

Postby Ozzie Blues » Fri Dec 14, 2007 11:18 pm

Hi Guys, Has anyone got feedback on this Speaker :?:
It's for my Tweed Champ Clone. I'm after a warm tone with a nice bottom, and
not too much treble brightness. At the moment I have a Jensen 10" Special Design
installed. I'd like to know what the Tone difference between the two speakers
will be, before I think about changing them over. 8)

Have you checked out Harmony Central's user review section? Won't give you a tone comparison but that's the only spot I could find people's impressions of various speakers when I was building my cab.

I've got a Weber Silver 10 alnico, but I don't know what the Jensen sounds like so I can't offer a direct comparison. I can say that the SIlver 10 is a really nice speaker, with a warm bottom end. Has an interesting, complex tone. I had it paired with a Weber Blue Pup in a Music Man 210/65. Frankly, the speakers, while fine, were not right for the amp. I replaced them after a year with a pair of Eminence Ragin Cajuns, which are a better fit, sonically. But I wouldn't hesitate to try out a Silver 10 in some other application.
