I would start with the original blues. Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Son House, Robert Jr. Lockwood, etc. But if you're lookin for a modern day artist, listen to some Robert Cray. He's great on the guitar. Buddy Guy is great too. Jonny Lang (Not quite so bluesy, but somewhat). Theres a lot out there, and all of the guys I listed are fantastic guitar players. Jimme Vaughan, SRV's brother is great too. Check out the "Crossroads Guitar Festival to find some great blues players! Good stuff.
