[updated:LAST EDITED ON Feb-26-06 AT 11:30 PM (EST)]Hi ya'll. I'm in a bit of a snag here. My electric guitar strings are like kind of well, ancient and need to be changed. I bought new heavy gauge strings to play slide on electric, and tried to put on one..
The first thing I should say is, I have no idea how to put on strings..And the electric is the hardest for me.
I put the low E string on and the thing done snapped.
I guess I twisted high too much.

Someone please help me with this, because I'm sick of relying on people to change my strings for me.This is enough,I got to learn myself.

You people are so stuck-up and such blues snobs.
That is so cruel, ya'll think you're better than everyone else, and look down upon me just because I have trouble putting strings on.
Well, everyone has been in my shoes. Thing is, once they learn how to do it,they just forget about it and not bother to help anyone who needs it.

Yep. I don't think we've forgotten it, either. J-Ro offered you a nice helpful link.

Yeh, that's a great link that he provided.

I'll give you some advice,

1 - Buy a Tuner.
That'll get you right in pitch.

2 - Ask someone at your local Guitar shop or a friend to show you how to change strings on your guitar.

3 - Chill out.

What happened, baby? I clicked on the blue link that he put on there and it went right to info on changing strings. Which I really needed cause I just broke another string and I been getting frustrated with it all. Something must have happened that made you think someone was being cruel. No one I've seen is cruel here intentionally. But we ALL screw up from time to time. But did I miss something that you might have seen? I hope you come back and check again. You take care.

I'm thinkin he did not see the reply post to his question after checking the dates and his last response. Things happen.
Sadea's Song

Come back baby
Baby come back
Didn't mean to hurt you
Don't give me no heart attack

I been walkin the floor
Watchin tears as they fall
Wonderin where have you been
When you're gonna give me a call

Was it somethin I said
Or somethin I didn't say
That hurt you so bad
That made you go away

Just give me a chance
To prove it to you
Baby come back
Didn't mean to hurt you

Sadea, Don't take this wrong either but I start writing songs on this site if I'm home on the weekends late at night. You were just the post that inspired me. sorry. I like the song though.

I think I might have been married to this gal. Spent six years with someone whose personality was just like that. One moment sweet and loving and the next breath she was hatin' me , wantin' to do me harm. Don't coax this gal, I think she wants to fight and call names. Some responses are totally out of line. Wow, talk about running me back thru some bad memories. What a hoot. I'll be watching my back for a few days now.

Hey Big Daddy,
Haven't seen ya for awhile. You know what, I think she didn't understand the link thing. I did not know myself for being new to the computer. Yes, yes us women are what we are - but some of you guys are too, I noticed.

I remeber my first string changes. Being a true American male, I didn't ask directions. I looked at what the guitar came with and mimic it. I did it wrong and have done it wrong ever since. My guitarist was watching me and commented on how bad I was. I laughed and told him I was an old dog and not even interested in a new trick. My strings hold until they break or I change them. Had a couple of acoustics come unraveled tho, my answer was to put on more winds. Them resonator are a trick. I use a piece of tape.
