Is my neck warped?

Postby angry » Wed May 24, 2006 3:32 am

Gday fellas, I'm hoping someone can advise me of a solution to this problem. When I first purchased my guitar (Takamine D series acoustic), and set it up for slide (thanks again to all those on here who gave me such good advice) the slide contacted all 6 strings when I laid it flat on the neck. Now it seems I am having to roll my hand over quite a distance to get good contact on the low E, which is beginning to annoy me. I have replaced the saddle with a higher bone type, and even tried shimming one side to raise the action on the string, but nothing seems to be working. Could the neck be warped in such a way as to make only one side of the neck lower? It looks okay to me but I could be wrong, if it is warped can it be fixed. Any advice is appreciated

Thanks lads

Hmmm... possible you have a radiused fretboard and didn't notice till now?

There are some slides with a bit of a curve to them, that might be the easiest fix.
