Keb Mo'...West Wing....Reso??

Postby crowduck » Mon May 15, 2006 3:00 pm

Saw Keb Mo play a chrome bodied cutaway reso during a presidential inauguration scene tonight. He did a nice job. I think the song was "America the Beautiful".

Anyone see this, and recognize the guitar, or know what it is?

I also saw the episode. The guitar that he was playing is a National Reso-Rocket.

I checked that out at the NRP website, and the cutaway looks looks different than what I remember seeing on T.V. I'll have to watch that episode again carfully.

Maybe, it's a new model from NRP. Or perhaps, something coming from Gibson/Epi, I believe Keb's an endorser there.

Keb' was playing a Reso that's not a particularly well-known model
recently in some Videos I saw if him.

I can't remember the name but, I think it starts with a "D".

I was thinking maybe a Donmo, but I looked at them, and they don't look right. As I remember seeing it, Keb Mo's had a sever cutaway that curves around very sharply. Looked like the cutaway on the Sardinas ES20. The Reso-Rocket and Donmo pictures show a rounded cutaway without a sharp point. I'll email the T.V. network a question.

I just watched the final West Wing episode again. There is no doubt about it. Keb Mo was playing a National Reso-Rocket just like this:

Well it ain't purdy fer sure but I'm sure it's got some tone! As fer me... I'm one of the lucky ones as Grady puts it! I LOVE MY ES-20 Mrs P was out at a teachers retirement (Bless her, she never makes me go) and I was switchin off between my ES in open G and my Johnson SS in open D and I was havin a ball! Found a bit of the "Zone" and just jammed alone fer about 2 hours!
Ohhhhhhhhhh whatta feelin!
