free slide material

I just stopped in to my local bicycle shop to see if they had any bent up handle bars to cut up for slides; they had a box full of heavily chromed steel units. Cut up on the bandsaw, smoothed edges on the grinder, decent sound and last but not least FREE. Next I'm going to try and cut up a chromed titanium frame for slides. Someday this scrounging for slide material has got to stop!!!

Awesome idea! One of my favorite slides came from a brass wind chime that my wife was throwing away. Thin and really light and super ringy.

That's weird.... I was in a music shop the other day and I thought
some of the slides would make a pretty cool wind chime!
