Swamp Stomper clips?

Postby t bone bbq » Tue Apr 11, 2006 12:43 pm

Does anyone have any clips of the new Swamp Stomper from Johnson? I've got a Johnson JM996 that I was thinking about selling or trading to get a Swamp Stomper, but I'd like to hear how good the pickup is on it first...

Ever consider putting a Schatten PU in the 996? I hear the 996 has been discontinued.

The Swamp Stomper doesn't have a reso pickup...only the neck single coil pickup. I just thought it might be nice to have one guitar that will cover both for me...then I could put a Schatten in for the reso later.

The 996 has been discontinued, but I don't know why...mine is a great guitar.

Yeah, I've been thinking about adding a Schatten cone PU to my ES20, and adding a 'blend' circuit.
Johnson apparently has also discontinued the L-00 acoustics, and replaced them with a variety of 000 models.
MickeyPainless on this forum just bought a SS and loves it, maybe he can post a soundclip.

Dunno how to do a soundclip nor do I have the set up to do it if I did but I can and will say that the Johnson SS is a honey! I play through a Fender Blues Jr currently set at: Reverb 6, Master 2.5, Mid. 3, Bass 7, Treb 4 and Vol. 10-12
I mess w/ the Vol and Tone on the SS for different sounds and if I wanna use feed back. I've used a Wah some but like it best w/ the Amp settings as they are and no FX.
I mainly use a porcelain slide but have used a heavy brass and it was cool!
Well made import and a hellava deal through Pappy at Coast to Coast (our forum sponsor)!
Even if I did know how to post a clip I doubt I'd do this lil black darlin justice!

Can anyone tell me if the pickup in the Swamp Stomper is the same size as a mini humbucker?
