My waiting has paid off in spades!
Got my new ES-20 all nicely packed and wrapped inside the HSC that was packed very well packed in the shipping box! Looks brand spankin new and I had to put on my cheater glasses and get in the right light to even see the repair around the Vol. knob! No other damage that I have found after 30 mins of close inspection!
Strings are a bit thin ga. so I will replace em w/ 13's! But right outta the case, tuned to open G and plugged into my Blues Jr.... THIS AXE ROCKS!
Thanks for all the support and feedback ya'll (ya know who ya are)!
Okay, I have feeling in my fingers again so I'm gonna go jam!
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh BABY!

Sounds pretty sweet unplugged as well! In fact it sounds WAY better than my SS unplugged! They are BOTH nice gits and each have their own attributes. They are both awesome additions to my collection! Now I'm gonna try to spend the next year dedicating my "music money" to lessons and instructional material! One day at a time! LOL

Mickey,

Looks like you got the 'best of the last' of the ES20's. That other one from PHILL looks pretty bad, and it's already bid up to $450. Washburn only made about 400 of them.........keep that in mind.
Hope you have fun with it, and the SS as well.
Now, what's next?

Yep Crow, it IS a dandy! Between playin last night I continued to look for flaws and just couldn't find any! It's lighter than the SS and feels a bit different but both feel good to me so it's all bonus!
The HSC case that came is VERY nice! Well made, nicely lined and even has the Washburn logo on the front!
As for "what's next"?.... I have pretty much everything I want or need at the moment but ALWAYS on the lookout for an old Stella/Kay etc brand archtop acoustic! Can't go by a junk or pawn shop w/out peekin in lookin for old medicine bottles, vintage veterinary equipment or old Sears, Monkey Wards type guitars! Sure glad Mrs Painless thinks my obsessions are "cute"!
The fact that the ES is a limited edition makes it all the more COOL to me so theres little chance of me parting with it down the road!

We think alike (well at least with the guitars)...have you been keeping an eye out at http://www.shopgoodwill.com ? I check it out every day, and that stuff is always showing up there. Just click on musical instruments. Some of the stuff goes way too high...but some real deals sneek through there.

A big congrats on the ES!!! I've also been following your SS story...man if you ever get tired of it, I'll send you my address :D

Yer readin my mind Crow, cept I'm gonna build it!
I have a couple pups, jacks and pods and material for bridge and nut, just need tuners and a nice slab of wood! I've had my plans drawn up for awhile now and made only a few mods to the design so now it's all about the right tree fallin in my path!
Once I start the project I plan to do a photo journal for all to see!
Stay tuned!

That sounds like fun. I might build one myself. If all else fails, there's the Artisan at MF for $79. The 'new' package now includes adjustable legs, and a great gig-bag with straps for carrying like a back pack. How do they do all that for $79? I'm tempted to order another one just to get the legs & bag. Check out the "See More Photos".

That's cool Crow!
Mine won't have legs since I mainly sit when I play.
The plan I have drawn up is with walnut or African mahogany and ash laminated like the old skateboards we made in wood shop back in the day. I plan to use plexiglass with scored fret lines on the underside and stainless steel for the bridge and nut although I'm on the lookout for brass stock to fit the bill.
Looks good on paper and I hope to git er done in the next 6 months!
