Great to hear Bow ~ 10 years and still going strong! :)

Still using the same type of strings ~ Newtone 'Michael Messer National' sets, 14 to 52 PB on my '33 Duolian and 16 to 59 on my Beltona tricone ;)

Slide On!

Ian.

Outstanding Ian!

Yes sir, that bottle neck slide you found for me to match the size of my brass slide. Those slides are still my main two,

I still have my Olympia single cone resonator as well. I think I've picked up a couple electrics over the years, but I haven't sold any! ;)

Got one of those Oly's too with a K&K reso pup.

I hardly play it anymore but its a pretty dang good reso compared to others I've played.

Yep I miss it too. I guess the only way to crank it up is to start posting again.
I've just discovered Mike Dowling. He has a great touch with a slide.
Try listening to his version of Drop down Mama and his own Swampdog blues! :D 8)

Yeah, I've gotten sucked into a bunch of the Facebook forums. Some of them are good, some, not so much. The slide related ones seem to have a fair share of people that can acti civilly.

I finished my Baritone tele. I still grab my tricone first. I'm finally rehearsing with a band for the first time in...a long time. The seem to put up with the fact that I don't want to play anything but slide, so I guess that's a good thing.

I guess I need to stop by more. Very glad to see some activity.

This thread is warming my cold Vermont winter.

I buy my strings in bulk, long unwound bags of each gauge by the dozen.

A 59 48 36 26 18 16 set of nickel wounds is normal for the Delphi.

Still trying out different sets on the Mandolins.

I still run GHS Boomers 10s on my electrics
GHS Phospher Bronze 12's on my Resonator

Holy crap Lummo!

What are you?

The Hulk?

I run Martin SP 12's on my Delphi.

Because ya know...I might want to bend a string once in a while. :)

I tune standard a 1/2 step down, because of vox.

Still pretty dang stiff to me.

And why would it not be anyhow with 12's?

Volume wise I need at least that size with a reso.

I mostly play 'lectrics with 10's

I like to be liking a tight but loose feel whether it be a Bigsby or a wraptail.

And to think that SRV often used 13's.

Dude musta' had neanderthal hands!

It's nice to see so many folks popping up here again.

I'm trying to 'standardize' on 12s for both acoustic and electric and on 16s for lap style, but outside of nuts and bolts standardization has never really been an important part of my life.

Oh, and I would never use 'Facebook' and 'advancement' in the same sentence. Like I said, it's nice to see some po' boys back at this po' forum.
