It sounds pretty much like I hoped it would (that is one of the hazards of building, you really don't know until you string it up). Its warm and woody, not what I would call complex. Very good separation between notes and very well balanced between strings. Pretty darn loud. Definitely a blues machine - my wife thought that Blind Lemon Pledge had come to visit.

I'm going to try to record some clips on this and my spruce/rosewood 000 for comparison. Maybe I can get Blind Lemon to help out....

Just flippin' sweet looking!

I just saw where Gibson has come out with a new version of the 1942 LG-1 which was all-mahogany and X braced.
