Open D White Rabbit

Hi gang, I've worked on a few tunes in open D slide branching out a bit style wise. Here's one using a modified lap steel tele and a Beard reso, with a Martin dred for rhythm. As I know a number of folks here dabble with lap steel, thought I'd annoy you with it even though not strictly blues. First tune White Rabbit on the page.

I agree with the above and would say surprisngly enjoyable is the best way to descibe it.

I learned to play White Rabbit the day the LP came out. But I was never able to figure out what to do with it so it was pretty much relegated to just goofing around stuff when there was nobody around. The only time anybody ever heard me play it was in the early 1970s when I teamed up with a singer and cello player for a couple of benefit gigs. We threw White Rabbit into the set list with the cello taking the lead guitar part.

An interesting twist on a (non-blues) standard. Nice work.

Well thanks guys for listening and providing feedback. Like many, I learned and applied Open tunings/slide in a blues context...but have found, of course, these are versatile tunings/techniques that can be used in any genre. It's fun exploring a bit, and I do appreciate your ears + inputs.
