rough recording using the new reso

Thought I'd try and record something to see what the new Republic guitar I bought sounded like. I'm using a reindeer antler for a slide instead of the pen-knife I usually use. It hasn't come out too bad. No vocals, as I just wanted to hear the sound of the guitar.

Sounds good--a raindeer antler? I never heard of using one of those before!

Sounds good, I'm surprised the antler sounds as bright as it does. Very nice.

I had been worrying about if the antler would be OK, which is one of the reasons I did the recording, but it's come out well. It's from a roasting fork thing, just broke the fork off and use the handle. I'd been using a pocket knife, but that's not so easy to carry around, and also they don't like it on the planes :P So I had to find an alternative.

I get a different sound playing in a pocket knife style rather than with a metal/glass slide on the finger. It's good for that Blind Wille stuff. You can fairly whizz up and down the neck.

Nice job on that. Sounds authentic and soulful!
