Man, Republic definitely seem to be dominating the reso market of late, and some nice soudning (and looking) guitars to boot. Shame they cost so much lmao :(

Actually looking at some of the odd deals coming up on their discounted page, this does seem like a pretty good option!

Keep an eye on Frank's Discounted page. My triolian was a steal. It was listed as discontinued (not blem) and I can only suppose that Frank needed room on his wall for newer stock. Maybe the colour wasn't popular - an olive green & black "sunburst" (strange sunburst colours - must be global warming at work). To buy something similar here in New Zealand, I would be paying nearly twice what I paid Republic. It's a whole new adventure for me getting used to playing bottleneck style after getting lap slide down fairly well over the last couple of years. Now, of course, the joys of hunting down the perfect slide. :D Peace.

Yep I've seen them on the NZ version of eBay - Mytrade or whatever it's called - going for prices well over $1000.00 !

TradeMe, it's called and yes, you are quite right, someone is importing them and must be importing the full price guitars. Mine came, as I said, from the discounted page and cost me all up with freight and NZ tax, a little more than half of what that trader on TMe is asking. And from what I'd been reading about Republic guitars vs the rest, I had confidence in buying online. I haven't been disappointed. :D Peace.

Any idea what the thickness of the necks are on the Republic?

They're fat as a bat!
Don't know how thick or wide they are, I think it varies a lot considering they're hand made and not made by CNC..
