She's earning some money. Poor thing has to or starve, in her country.
Reminds me of current US politics, and all the money being spent by wealth, to eliminate Social Security.

Why does music always have to turn in to politics with you people?

Music has, for a long time, often spoken to the political situation of a particular country. As for the US of A, one just needs to look around to get a sense of what is happening.

Lefty, I don't think the intent is to turn a post into politics, just an observation. Your post was very interesting and I thank you for sharing it. My Grandmothers have gone to their reward, but were they still alive, they belong seated in a comfortable rocker rather than sitting on a grimy street trying to eek out a few coins to eat. SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can't stay on topic, take your political mumblings to Off Topic.

Sounds pretty good. A thicker light bulb would get a better tone.

Comments about socio-economic conditions suggested by the video hardly seem that off-topic to me...

It's just a very sad video, white boy.
I pity you, that you can't feel that.

Ain't nuthin' wrong with that old gal or Lefty's post. The "white boy" comment is out of line.

People should be allowed to comment how they see fit. If individuals feel offended they should just ride it out rather than try to put down someone elses views. In the free world we should all be able to have our opinions on things.
Personally I too found this video a little sad just like when I see people on my streets doing this sort of thing.
There is a fine line between busking and begging and yet a great difference in public opinion between the two.
But these are just opinions and if you don't like other people's opinions that's OK. Most of us will disagree with at least 50% of what others think.
Ain't no reason to be offended or start a fight though.

I'll retract the name calling, Sorry.

But the rest stays, because I think Lefty's original impulse was to ridicule the poor old woman.
I'd like to hear him explain his feelings.

I'm guessing he was just all like "Hey, I never saw anyone play guitar with a light bulb before! Neeto!"

Actually, yes, this is what I thought.

Yes, I'm 21, so that must mean I'm an immature little prick poking fun at an old lady playing guitar

I saw this video on another forum and thought it was really cool! I would've never thought about playing slide with a light bulb. None of us here know her situation. Just because she's on the street playing doesn't mean she has to do it to survive, although that may be the case. Maybe she just enjoys doing it. I posted this video to share with you guys because I thought it was interesting and thought you might too. I don't see how politics can be related since you don't have any idea what her situation is.

Lefty, permit me to offer my sincere apologies regarding what I stated. I'm not making excuses, but I was having a day from hell and thus I spoke (typed) when I should have kept my mouth shut and my hands in my pockets.
