Great stuff! What's totally weird is that I had that exact setup (just the amp and guitar) back in 1969 and sold it when I carelessly let it get hot and the neck warped. I didn't know it could be fixed, so I sold it. My then-wife prevailed upon me to sell the amp, since I was selling the electric guitar. She just didn't like me playing electric. Eventually, she admitted she just didn't like ME, and now she's gone and the new and vastly improved bek1 has actually encouraged me to buy guitars. Mostly acoustic, I have to admit, but not all, and she encourages me to play with others, so I am again in a church band, bringing in songs like Ben Harper's stuff. Just moving to inject some blues into the church ears! I'm assembling a medley I can play on my 1930s Regal reso. It's going good, so far! Littletoby, you can return my rig, ok?

Toby, is the Stratotone a totally solid body? I owned a Harmony Meteor in the 60's which was totally hollow. I wish I'd never sold her. I love those de Armond gold foil pickups. Speaking of which, would they be a single coil wound in the usual way? Peace :D

Ric they are hollow, much like a Danelectro but with wood. The pups, unlike most, are wide and flat bobbins wound quite hot with thin wire, very different from the tall type Fender and Gibson pups. My H74 and H19 are up in the 11 k range. I had a Stratotone H47, but didn't much like it. They also have some very interesting electronics, they have a type of system with lead, rhythm and straight to jack sounds, as well on some a blend switch.

Most of the Stratotone line are hollow. The exceptions are the H44 and H42.

I've got an H47 "Mercury". I have kind of a love/hate relationship with that guitar. Well, more like/dislike. Never my go-to guitar, but cool enough to keep.

Nice pickin' and just some fun gear. I played through a Silvertone Twin for alot of years. Great (although a bit messy) circuitry but the cabs are made of pressed cardboard or something and do not do well on the road - especially if rains. I had to throw some corner braces in their to keep it together. Coincidentally I played an Alden branded Stratotone over the weekend whch I have been considering buying.
