Beard-of-gray, user data, such as signature, number of posts and avatar are stored once per user, so it's not an on/off tweak to store a history of updates. I do have the skills to do such a modification, but the return on the investment of my time isn't worth it.

Stumblin, there's currently no ability in the HTML specification to open links in new tabs - you have to do it yourself. I believe in Firefox, clicking on a link with the middle mouse button/scroll wheel will open the link in a new tab. Command-clicking does the same thing in Safari on the Mac. I don't know about other browsers/platforms.

Badfinger, it's really not been that bad. This software is very well designed, and the only hiccup (so far) in last night's upgrade was that Ricochet lost his name for a while - some sort of ID collision with an old, inactive user 'big d', who made a grand total of one post, so I manually updated Ricochet's database entry with data from the old table. The move to this server was pretty uneventful, I had to figure out how to export the database without shell access and not enough free diskspace on the old server.

Any theme updates won't affect legibility. If I do switch to light-on-dark, the font size & weight will be adjusted accordingly. You'd also be able to keep this theme for yourself.

The software asked me for a second loin before I could post in this thread.

Rusty-
Are we going to be able to retain the links and information that were available on the old BRB mainpage? The harp primer was especially useful for newbies. Thx.

No one's told me to take them down. Until Doc Mojo tells us to stop publishing the stuff he wrote, it'll stay up in one form or another. At some point I will be re-doing the main page, but we won't lose any of the good stuff (harp & slide, etc), and the old page will be cached at any rate.

Other than accidentally deleting a picture of Junior Wells, I think it's all currently intact, so it should still be "especially useful for newbies", rather than "was".

Got it. When I logged on this morning I used a link in my web history that took me straight to the forum index. Using http://www.bigroadblues.com still takes you to the time honored mainpage.

Thanks for all of your efforts on this project. Great job!
