I'm curious, How you can tell they are bogus?
It's hard to read the usernames in the screen image.
Have you peeked at the corresponding profiles?

I looked at the first one's profile, not quite the profile of your typical blues fan/performer.Joined: Tue Dec 04, 2012 4:48 pm

After looking at several of the profiles, my guess is they represent entities that look for places to post the web addresses of their internet business concerns, hoping to either amass click scores so they can charge for advertisements, or simply to attract customers (scam victims?).

The more external links there are to a website, the higher a rating it gets with a search engine. My guess is that they are trying to move up in the search engine world. I just looked at profiles for four names in a row, all starting with 'persch', and all list the same website. I would think that it would be too time consuming to do that by hand; some little piece of rogue software must be doing it for them.

zhyla, rusty? Are you guys out there? Are the inmates running the asylum?

Kiwi must have turned on birthdays. I turned them off again. I've also disabled registrations. Once I figure out how to post an announcement about how to register, we'll be all set.
