Benefit gig for much-loved local hipsters...

A haven for blues & jazz lovers, Rare & Racy has been open in Sheffield for over three decades.
"Progress" in the guise of corporate coffee-shops and chainstores are threatening the continued existence of this fantastic cultural resource.
If we allow them to be forced out, we'll have lost one of the few remaining bastions of humanity in our town.
So, some folks have got together to try to raise awareness of the shop, and to try and help out a bit with the rent.
The Rare & Racy Benefit Gigs will be at The George IV, Infirmary Rd. on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th Nov 2006.
We're playing on the Saturday at 18:00hrs.
So, if you want to show support for this eminently worthy cause, show up on the nights.
Or go and buy something from Rare & Racy.

Thanks to everyone who came along to play or listen on Friday & Saturday night.
A great set of events all round. Blues, punk, cabaret... All human life was there.
Now go and buy stuff from the shop, and Sheffburg's culture will be the richer :)
