Tried posting this twice but it no come up. At Long Itchington, 3 miles from Southam, this Saturday, 2/9/6, there is a local festival called Song Itchington. Small event, but I'll be there camping behind the Green Man & I will have an instrument of mass dysfunction with me for a spell at an open mike.

details are here: http://www.song-itchington.org/2006/extras.html

Nay lad, that's thine, I'll have a stab at Land Of Hope And Glory. Be interesting to see depth of audience appreciation/revulsion at what I do. But someone's got to go out and show them there's a world beyond MTV.

Ta 4 your support, I shake like buggery when I'm up there.

You can always do "To Anacreon In Heaven" instead.

Went there, got up for a 5 minute Open Mike spot. Did a Fred Macdowell tribute, then my own take on It Hurts Me Too. Nobody threw bricks, so that's a plus.

Cost for punters was £2:00 a ticket for a 12 hour bash, at the end of the night there were bands good enough to spend money watching, and then, last but one, the organisers did their set. This is straight, if they toured, they would very quickly end up as a £20 a ticket outfit. Doing funk, Stevie Wonder etc. Brilliant. Glad I went.

Good show, Maxx! I like "It Hurts Me, Too," and Fred McDowell was awesome! I like to play some of his stuff, too.

Just wish I could do Mr Macdowell's stuff halfway right. Fun trying, though.
