Road to Rio

Your chance to write big-time blues reviews. Only two rules: First, if you're connected to the band or artist, go to Shameless Promotion; Second, don't write a book -- keep it relatively short and simple, no 1,000+ word epics.

Oh .. and make it fun.

Road to Rio

Just picked up the album "Road to Rio" by the Hollywood Blue Flames. I saw a review from last year which I guess is their previous album.

This "Road to Rio" is a double CD. CD1 is the new album. CD2 is a previously unreleased live set by the Hollywood Fats Band, feat. Eddie Cleanhead Vinson.

I only just picked it up, so I haven't had time to listen to CD2 yet, but if the sound quality is good... I guess it can't be bad. It's the Fats!

CD1 is great! I love it. Guests are Kim Wilson and Junior Watson. Easily the best new blues I've heard in 2006! Love the guitar tone!
