What subject you researching? What ever it is, there ought to be somebody around here who will claim to know something about it.

Ike Zinneman apparently never recorded. Legend has it that he taught Robert Johnson a lot of guitar techniques.
According to (inter alia) Pearson & McCulloch in "Robert Johnson Lost and Found" (ISBN 0-252-02835-x), Robert learned from/was mentored by both Ike and his brother, Herman Zinneman.
There is a photo in Bill Wyman's "Blues Odyssey" (in which he traces the history of the blues to a terraced house in Penge!) which purports to be a "third" photgraph of Robert, but which many believe may be a phot of Ike Zinneman. I can't find it anywhere on the internet right now, but I'm sure it's out there.
Does this help?

I doubt there's anything known about Ike Zinnerman that's not on the Web. The could-be pic of him used to be on the Temple of Blues, which is now defunct. Bet it's on the Devil's Music Forum.

Hey Ric, you must not have checked in a while; although the TOB seems more than half dead, it's been back up for a while.

Here's a link to the Zinneman/Johnson discussion at TOB:
