Hi All...

Postby diamond » Mon Apr 22, 2002 9:45 am

Hi to all on B.R.B....I'm a bottleneck maker / occaisional acoustic blues guitarist from the U.K. [bottleneck making takes up most of my spare time!]. I supply the London Resonator Centre with my bottlenecks [www.resocentre.com] and also have my own web-page [www.bluesandstuff.com/features/bottlenecks.htm
I hope to hear from you soon!
Cheers.

Welcome to another Brit. I haven't given much thought to the makers of bottlenecks until now. It must be quite a skill. Wasn't there a famous guitarist who explained at great length to a barman in a London hotel that he wanted a bottleneck, only for the barman to come back with the wrong end?

ps: Good to see you here. It's about time. Make sure you slide over to the Bottleneck Forum (but keep your eyes on the others, of course). You'll find the best bunch of string twangers anywhere on the net. (I don't know if they can play or not, but as a band, they're the best, well, there is Lovat...)

He's a scotch person - he's alright, though, when he remembers to take his tablets, that is. Check out:

Hi Ian, errr, Diamond,

I guess you know Keith, errrr, Badfinger from way back (front). This is confusing. Ah, but even in Canada we know where to put the finger ... up the slide of course. Welcome (back). I guess if I travel over the pond I'll have to meet some of you colonizers!!

Monkey and the baboon, layiin' in the grass,
Monkey stuck his finger up the baboon's... slide?

Robert Johnson used that old childhood rhyme in one of his songs. :-)

Trust a medic to get all proctological - prostatic, even. (Thank God my next Uro' session is not until next January!)

Hi, Doug,
diamond here is a great admirer of your guitars (Ian, follow the 'volume' thread on the bottleneck forum).
Yep we go way back, at least since he last got out - but we've never actually met! But on Saturdy we are both gonna be in London and that's when we will probably stop speaking to each other - just another internet romance gone sour!

Hmm, don't suppose that monkey was named "badfinger," too?

Why is it called a "jam" session? Couldn't it as easily been called a "jelly" session, or a "preserves" session? It's late in the day........
