Hey G - WELCOME! Bout time another Michigander joined this board...
while I enjoy their unique perspectives, a lot of these blokes are halfway around the world! I left you another message at your post in Blues, News & Gossip. I already figured out you're a guitar player so please disregard the stupid question there. Look forward to hearing from you. (just click on the icon that will let you e mail me.)

Hey man, welcome!

You mean there's another way to learn time besides foot tapping and counting? :)

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jun-18-02 AT 10:46 PM (CST)]Hi, Ric - Foot Tapping.

The scene: The concert hall of Salford Technical College (now Salford University).

Me: A tender, 16-year old, playing second violin for the first time with Salford Symphony Orchestra, rehearsing for an up-coming concert.

Wielding the baton: Sir Joseph Needham (famous for "The greatest and most important sound in music is silence!", and other pithy wotsits.)

Half way through the first movement of Beethoven's 4th, Sir Joe, without stopping the orchestra, moved from his podium and, still conducting, threaded his way to the second row fiddles, where he slid one large, Oxford-clad foot onto my own slight, right hoof.

"If I hear that foot tapping again, laddie, I'll chop it off! D'you think I'm waving this stick for fun?"

If he saw me playing guitar now, he'd be apoplectic!

Hmmm, that ":7" is supposed to come out as a big, toothy-grinned smiley.
