I am a professional guitar player that plays in a cajun/zydeco band named Creole Stomp. We play all around the U.S and hopefully we will be heading to Europe in the future. I live in Southern Illinois, six hours south of Chicago. Clarksdale, Mississippi is about five hours south of where I live. I spend as much time as I can in Clarksdale and surrounding areas when I can and I have had the pleasure of meeting and playing with a number of players. Blues has always been a passion and especially the early pre-war acoustic blues. I am also a writer, I have a PhD in philosophy with a focus on 20th century French and German philosophy. Blues, and roots music in general, has a truthfulness about it that most contemporary forms of music are lacking. I have spent a lot of time in Mississippi and Louisiana over the last few years. The cajun and creole music from Louisiana, as well as the culture, is quite similar to feel and mood in Mississippi. Watching an old creole play zydeco on his accordion is very similar to watching an old bluesman playing a guitar in a juke in Mississippi.
