I have no idea... This is not blues ... more like anti blues. But I have a soft spot for the guitar work in 'Duel of the Jester and The Tyrant' from Return to Forever's 'Romantic Warrior' album

The solo on Rock Around The Clock by Bill Haley And The Comets. Who was that guy?

That was the great Franny Beecher. Good choice!

The one that comes to mind first is Dave Gilmoure-"Time" from dark side of the moon. Really soulful and polished. But I have a lot of favorite pickers that have laid down some really heavy licks. I like almost everything Danny Gatton played. Brent Mason has also done a lot of rides that make my jaw drop. Known by most as a Nashville studio musician, he is really good in any venue.

i like expressive solos that help define a song-

elliot randall on steely dan's "reelin in the years"
john cipollina on "cobra"
clapton on "tales of brave ulysses"
hendrix on "the wind cries mary"
gilmour on "comfortably numb"

geez, can you tell i'm old?
