1/ Dave Gilmoure-"Time" from dark side of the moon
2/ Jimi Hendrix- "all along the watchtower"
3/ Eddie Van Halen - "light up the sky"-from their first album
4/ Jimmy Page- "stairway to heaven"
5/ Jimi Hendirx- "purple haze"

Waylon Jennings' solo in "Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line."

And I have to say, I'm not really a big Hendrix fan, but "All Along the Watchtower" was on the radio yesterday and he does some really cool stuff in there.

And anything Judah Bauer has ever played in the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Ever.

Love Jon Spencer Blues explosion!

But I've got to say(it's a bit of a mixed bag!):

The end solo to Awaken by Yes (starts with the lyrics Be honest with yourself, there's no doubt, no doubt)
Motown Junk by the Manic Street Preachers.
That little 2 note thing in the song Oh Sh!t by the Buzzcocks.
The one that leads into Battlefield in Tarkus by ELP.
And the Intro to Strange Brew by cream.

* Slash - "Dont Cry"
* Frampton - "Ill Give You Money" - live from "Comes Alive"
* Stevie Ray Vaughan - "Don't Lose Your Cool" - live from Box Set
* Jimi Hendrix - "House Burnin Down" - Electric Ladyland

* Jeff Beck - "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" - form "Wired"
* Danny Gatton - "Harlem Nocturne" from "88 Elmira Street"
* Ace Frehely - "Let Me Go Rock n Roll" from "Alive"
* Angus Young - "Night Prowler" from Highway to Hell

Ohhhh.. I forgot about "Night Prowler." Never understood why that wasn't a bigger song than it was. And that pick scrape he does? Great.

Man, I love the Blues Explosion though. Even their bad stuff is better than most people's good. I just wish they'd record a little more often!

Well, I've got to go with Gilmour's solo on Another Brick in the Wall, it was the first 45 I bought with my own money. Originally learned it on the tennis racket. Great solo, very singable, good foundation of guitar techniques with bending (and overbends), great phrasing, funky double stops and a solid intro to pentatonic soloing.

Some others, no order:

Since I've Been Loving You - Jimmy Page
Jessica - Dickey Betts/Duane Allman (but honestly: Warren/Derek is better)
I Got a Mind to Give Up Living - Mike Bloomfield
A Bit of Finger/Sleeping Village/Warning - Tony Iommi
Transylvania - Dave Murray/Dennis Stratton
Stray Cat Strut - Brian Setzer
Lyin' Like a Dog - Buddy Guy
Djangology - Django Reinhard
Black Magic Woman - Peter Green
Pack It Up - Freddie King
Barracuda - Roger Fisher
Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix
Can't Be Satisfied - Johnny Winter (off Hard Again)
Nothing As It Seems - Stone Gossard/Mike McCready

Ok, I'll stop now, it goes on forever, really.

Anything by Kenny Burrell, Django or Elmore James

Don't really like many rock solos but Dicky Betts on Jessica and McCartney's solo on the studio version of Maybe I'm Amazed

Blues--too many to mention anything by Magic Sam , Otis Rush or Mike Bloomfield( Highway 61 )

Damn near anything by Duane or Steve Cropper

AND Dave Van Ronk
