Another teaser: the character would not be named that in other countries - it is (as far as I know) peculiar to the US.

An easy one...

Yeah right. So much for easy, 11 days now.

It's well known that Pigpen was the blues influence in the Dead, but unless you are a dedicated Deadhead and fan of psychedelia with direct reference material, who's gonna figure out which bluesman influenced him?

I'll guess T-Bone Walker, only because he was one of the first blues stalwarts to migrate to the west coast.

Bosco,

You're close.

One of Santa's reindeer sort of shares a (nick)name with this bluesman.

Now then Bosco, where's your Xmas spirit?

Stumbles- I've had more than my fair share of Christmas spirits which may help explain my demeanor Christmas morning, having hosted my own party Christmas Eve!

OK- I'm not aware of any of the original eight reindeer from "T'was The Night Before Christmas" having a nickname, Rudolph "The Red Nose" reindeer coming later from the title of the unrelated song.

At any rate another guess- Juke Boy Bonner. (Donner)

Hi Cat-

Instead of fielding blind guesses, you are going to have to provide more solid clues.

The object of the Trivia is to keep the game moving so as many forum members as possible can participate. Any question that stalls and approachs two weeks unanswered, does not accomplish that goal.

It is however, a damn good question!

bosco,
I'm trying to lead you, without giving it away.

Take ricochet's last post (excluding the typo - the name is Donner) and find a translator.

Well, Donner is Deutsch for Thunder.
Thunder Smith was Lightnin's piano-man for a while, and I believe he also played with Honeyboy Edwards.
I have no idea what the answer to the question might be though. In fact, I'm a little hazy in respect of whether I can actually remember the question at all...

Wasn't a typo. The reindeer's name is Donder. It has been rendered as Donner by some recent revisionists.

Well, Blitzen is Lightning, and that's where my post apocalyptic wine stained mind comes to a chaotic and screeching halt. With chickens flying out of the wreckage.

Well, might as well toss in a guess of Lightnin' Hopkins then-

If correct, credit should go to Maxx.

An Easy one...
