i would have to say cedric burnside. he is the grandson of the late great miss. hill country legend r.l. burnside. along with his partner lightning malcolm of the jukejoint duo/two man wrecking crew, he was nominated for best blues drummer and best new artist at the bma(formerly w.c. handy awards)and won for best new artist. their drone style of hill country blues is mesmerrizing and like nothing else i have ever heard. having met them on several occasions i found the two of them to be as cordial as they were talented.
