Don't Lose Your Cool

Postby socal_blues » Tue Feb 26, 2002 3:31 am

Has anybody heard this song done by Stevie Ray Vaughan? How'd I let this one get by me? It's on the SRV box set which I've had for a few months. But I didn't notice it until I picked up "Truckin' With Albert Collins". I liked Albert's version, so when I saw that it was also on SRV I listened to Sevie's version (again) and it really blew me away. Now I can't get it out of my head.

Hey SoCal, I have to agree.

Let me know if you ever figure out the tab for it.

I have no SRV recordings so I looked for the song by SRV on YouTube and found Live at Kuusrock Festival in Oulu,Finland 7.17.-1988. It is a nice enough number but me I don't usually favor instrumentals I prefer to hear at least some singing going on here and there in a number. I remember I think seeing SRV on TV, he was just a young kid at the time, the latest phenomenon you might say. I don't recall much what his playing sounded like on that TV show, except that it was very fast and skilled but not necessarily something I would go out of my way to listen to.
