For what it is worth, the magazine, "Oxford American: The Southern Magizne of Good Writing" has a special "music edition" out.

It has articles about, among others, Esther Phillips, Willie Nelson, R.L. Burnside, Marilyn Monroe(?), Del McCoury, Swamp Dogg, King Pleasure, Little Milton, Memphis Minnie, and My Morning Jacket.

The articles are short and geared to people who aspire to be writers. An English professor from work sent a copy my way, thinking I would be interested in the articles about Delta folks.

Nothing new in the articles, but thought I ought to share it. It does give an interesting angle.
