Slight misunderstanding

Postby the lips » Sat Oct 02, 2004 5:01 pm

This isn't my favourite linr from a Blues song, but it's probably the most worrying:

I am a back door man,
I am a back door man,
The men they don't know, but the little girls understand.

Hmmm...

Of course, if you're 60 yrs. old, and the girl is 20 years old, she'd seem like a little girl. But, I agree about the edginess of the lyric, and I remember the impact it had when the Doors did it. There's nothin' like double entendres in music.

Again I reflect on the audacity of the Killer singing this to white 1950's America...
" I'm like a one eyed cat peeping round a seafood store".

But it needs Bobby Peru (Dafoe) to truly strip away any dbl entendre whilst singing it to laura Dern in " Wild at heart ).

I always got kind of creeped out by the lyric from "Alabama Song":

Show me the way to the next little girl
Show me the way to the next little girl
For if we don't find the next little girl
I tell you we must die
