The War Of The Roses Blues (my good old frien

Postby stefanie » Wed Jun 22, 2005 5:23 pm

I just wrote this for ma man...Is this a blueslyric...It feels like the blues to me

The War Of The Roses Blues
(my good old friend Kermit)

I have to leave my baby
Oh man he's been treating me cruel
have to leave my baby
Oh no I ain't his tool...

The way he talks to me
seems we never had anything good
He doesn't talk.. he barks.. u see?
He makes me ramble through the streets
And even go beg for food

Can stop cryin'
never saw one tear in his eye
feel like dyin'
He and me .. we'll never reach the sky
Graveyardbones walkin' like one happy couple
through my mind
While afar I hear the thunder...
(lightning ain't lightning at all...
In a way you can't see the damage)
Seems like everyone’s up
while I'm under...

Lord I have to leave my baby
and yes I'm leaving town
to rejoin with my good old friend Kermit
I put on my boots and jacket and all
take all my pictures of the wall
I'll forget about the wedding gown
and become a bitchy hermit

Yeah I have to leave my baby
and all the people with their poses
Yeah it's certain now... no maybe
I have to leave my baby
and leave the war of the roses

(Mumbling:I wish there was something he would do or say....
And: I did it my way)

sounds good, but why [link:www.warsoftheroses.com/|the War of the Roses] , a civil war in England over the throne in the 1400s?

This is a better version

The Days Of The Roses Blues
(my good old friend Kermit)

I have to leave my baby
Oh man he's been treating me cruel
I have to leave my baby
and no.. it ain't no maybe
I'm tired of bein' his tool...

The way he talks to me
seems we never had anything good
He doesn't talk.. he barks.. u see?
He makes me ramble through the streets
And even go beg for food

Can't stop cryin'
never saw one tear in his eye
feel like dyin'
Did we ever see the sky
Graveyardbones walkin' like one happy couple
merely through my mind
While afar I hear the thunder...
and yonder grey skies I find
(lightning ain't lightning at all...
In a way you can't see the damage)
Seems like everyone’s up
while I'm under...

Lord I have to leave my baby
and yes I'm leaving town
I go and rejoin with my good old friend Kermit
or visit missis Brown
I put on my boots and jacket and all
take all my pictures of the wall
forget about the wedding gown
Why answer when they call
I'll become a bitchy hermit

Yeah I have to leave my baby
and all the people with their poses
Yeah it's certain now... there ain't no maybe
I have to leave my baby
and leave the days of the roses

(Mumbling:I wish there was something he would do or say....and something bout the fifth day of may)

That's great writing Stefanie!

"I put on my boots and jacket and all
take all my pictures of the wall
forget about the wedding gown
Why answer when they call"

Sure sounds like blues to me, whatever that is. Music that comes from the soul, fer sure.

Yeah, me too. Stefanie, do you write lyrics and play harp? Do you collaborate with other musicians to write songs? I went to your site but I don't read Dutch(?).

>went to your site but I don't read Dutch(?).Hello Nizer...There's a lot of Artistic stuff goin' on in Antwerp (where I live)...But I don't want to perform my poetry on a stage becos I think a lot of poets are so full of themselves and it seems to be a war that always end up in fighting with words and drinking...People told me to find some musicians to put music on my poems...But that never happened...Instead I make...Matchboxes with a poem...Cigaretteboxes with cherrytastecigarettes with a poem....mousmats with a poem...Puzzles with a poem...Bookmarks wih a poem...Necklaces with a poem..Postcards with a poem..And now I'm even knitting handbags with a poem...I also have a poetical radioprogram ...I try to play the harp but I'm not there yet...Have to practice and learn a lot...Oh if you go to my site you just push on the section gedichten and you will enter the section of the poems..And you will see that there are a lot of english poems...Love from Stefanie

"And now I'm even knitting handbags with a poem..."

Right. Now I understand why Magritte was from Belgium.
