"She's only been gone for 24 hours but,,it seems like a Thousand years"

Don't think I've heard that one.

I've heard "Minutes seem like hours, hours seem like days" a lot.

"A cheerful heart is good medicine."

that I think is really funny is,
" You can tell your man is lyin if he moves his lips"

(Grady, you don't look like your picture you post.)

I'll translate that line, He was Truth challenged, Honesty impaired

I can't think of a single song with that line in it ("She's only been gone...")

Maybe I should get out more.

How bout

"One day away from that man of mine feels like a thousand years." I like that one. Can't remember the song. Ok now I remember, "Down in the Dumps." "One night as I lay asleep I heard a knock on my door I thought it was that sweet man of mine making his midnight creep. But it was nothing but my landlord, a great big chump. I said, stay away from my door, Mr. landlord cause I'm down in the dumps."

Reminds me of one of my favorite Blind Willie Johnson tunes...

God Moves on the Water

Year of nineteen hundred and twelve,
April the 14th day
Great Titanic struck an iceberg
People had to run and pray
God moves, moves, ah know ah
An' the people had to run and pray

The guards who had been a-watchin'
Were asleep for they were tired
When they heard the great excitement
Many gunshots were fired
God moves, moves, ah know ah
An' the people had to run and pray

Captain Smith gave orders,
Women and children first
Mannin' the life boats piled right up,
Many alive were crushed
God moves, ah know, ah know ah,
An' the people had to run and pray

Oh many had to leave their happy home,
All that they possess
Lord Jesus Will you hear us now,
Help us in our distress
Go moves, ah know, ah know ah,
The people had to run and pray

Women had to leave their lovin' ones,
See for their safety
When they heard their loved ones doomed
Hearts did almost break
God moves, ah know, ah know ah'
An' the people had to run and pray

E.J. Smith mighty man
Built a boat that he couldn't understand
Named it a name, God in a tin
Never to see Lord the boat again
God moves, ah know, ah know ah
An' the people had to run and pray

Mickey, I'm above Fresno and I bet you know L&L Feed that's around the corner from me. Do you buy and sell horses in this area? You probably know the ranches I worked on. I'm from fresberg and lived in Clovis and work all over the valley although no longer with horses (sniff). I actually came up here cause I always go to the mountains and also wanted to play drums at any sound level and to try to retrain messed up horses and provide foster care for abused horses. That hasn't happened yet though. No money. Let me know when you're here!

Blues Magoo, Cool song, I've never heard it and can't listen to the sound click. A song of compassion. Ok time for me to cut some wood and go to work.

Hey LoriLu,
Yep I know the feed store but no I don't trade horses. I'm a horse dentist. I do quite a few of the big barns up in that area and work outta Doc Ford's in Clovis quite often.
I need someone for day work sometimes and if yer horse savvy maybe we can hook up! If nuttin else we can grab a cup of coffee or sumthin!
I grew up in Fresno but left in 75 for the Navy and then back for a 2 year stint then down to Bakersfield.
Small world eh!

Micky, I would love it. I've held many horses while they get their teeth floated, feet shod, shaved, pulled what have you. I miss those critters. I'll do it as long as no one's hurting em. It would be a pleasure. Coffee sounds good too. Let me know. I am very busy right now but I'd make some time when you know your schedule.
