[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jun-12-05 AT 09:00 AM (EST)]Death Letter - Does anybody know when the release of this album was?

The material was originally recorded in 1965 and issued as an LP shortly thereafter. Later reissues including 1992's The Father Of The Delta Blues - The Complete 1965 Sessions has the songs that were included on the original issue and the remaining material that went unissued for a long period. Below is the Edsel re-release of the Death Letter album with the original artwork.

That being said, there are other CD reissues out using Death Letter in the title. One on Snapper (I think) comes immediately to mind, but this is actually made up of Son's 1930 Paramount session and later recordings for the Library Of Congress.
