Lummo...

Postby stumblin » Thu Jul 07, 2005 6:26 am

Remember him?
He was that guy who said his computer was 30, or something, and then vanished from our monitors.
Seriously though, anyone know when we're likely to hear from our mate Lummo again?
Hopefully, it won't be too long before he's back online.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Jul-07-05 AT 10:17 AM (EST)]Look up his profile or a fairly recent post and E-mail him. Or maybe you can talk Walter into giving him a ring if E-mail doesn't work. (Or you could always try looking up Dan Lange in the directory.)

Hey Guys,
I wrote a letter to Dan, tell'n him we were all worried an wonder'n what was up out there.
I got his letter yesterday.
He was real touched that we were send'n out the St.Bernard an all.
His prob is a power supply. He said that it would take a while to mobilize but he would be back on line before "too long" (he thought).

He also said,
"things have been hectic and weird" his main guitar "the shovel" (his Delphi) took a bit of a spill andcracked the neck ("D'OH" !!).
To take up the slack, he dipped into his "studio fund" and bought a Regal, "which lacks the volume & "nuance" of the National but is getting the job done. He named it the "Scoop" it has store bought letters spelling THANK YOU on the back.

Dan said he was a Busk a saurus lately trying to catch up with his cash flow probs. He said that the Regal had actually been good for him. Making him push the harp a bit more.

He closed by saying that he and Jane were in good health and spirits.
Commenting that it was summer in California so it was hard not to be.

He signed off by say'n the Best to everyone on "The Road".

Good to hear that he's well. Y'know, getting away form this place for a while every now and then could probably do all a little good.

I've gotta get off and do some playing!

Listening to 'Fess: The Professor Longhair Anthology has got me all fired up for the keyboard. I've just been rounding up some old tubes to swap around in my Hammond to see if I can cure the whistling oscillation in my Hammond's percussion amplifier. Then I'm gonna pound on the keys for a while. (But not too hard, they've got kinda delicate iridium wire contacts under them.)

I sure am glad to hear Dan and Jane are OK!

Anybody know if Dan is reachable on-line yet?

I'm heading out into that area next month and was wanting to touch base with him again.

I just sent him an E-mail from the link on his web page: http://www.geocities.com/danandjane/Dan_Lange.html Hope he gets it.

I'm sitting here with a big old grin listening to his song "Got Wood." :7

I just sent him a message from his site, too. Berkley is paying to fly me out to a conference and we'd talked back in the spring about maybe getting together. The only free time I will have is when I have to lay over from Sept. 11 until I fly out on the 12th.

(I didn't really look forward to flying cross country on the 11th, anyway.)

I was in California 34 years ago, and just passed through then.

Bruneau, re-read the last few posts on page 1 of this thread, and all will become relatively clear.
The world shall hear from Lummo again...
