Ok. back on deck. Born in Indianola. Started playing on a homemade CBG and diddly-bow. 6 foot 4 inches tall. A bulldozer driver with a .45 always in his back pocket. He first recorded in Chicago. Later shared a bill with John Mayall and Jimi Hendrix. SRV called him 'Daddy' and EC has admitted to stealing one of his licks as the basis for Layla.

Apparently The Beatles "borrowed" a guitar lick from this blues singer guitarist and used it in one of their songs. Name the artist and the Beatles song.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-11-06 AT 00:30 AM (EST)]Chuck Berry
"Come Together,"
from Berry's "You Can't Catch Me"
(though, come to think of it that may have ben a lyrical rather tan a riffable "borrow".
Well, at least I tried.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-11-06 AT 07:47 AM (EST)]That's not the one I had in mind. This artist - still active and touring - is originally from Louisiana and has lived in the Washington, DC area for at least a couple of decades.

Close, but no cigar. You got the artist, but not the song.

I think so, but I'm looking for the Beatles song title.
