i only remember part of the first lyrics, if anyone knows what the tune is & can help me out i would be very glad.

it goes !I drove old bess & i drove old mary lou, im a long line skinner baby" then he says something about not being able to find a mule without a bad shoulder. anyone know the track?......

thanks, the version i got of this tune has got the "lord I'm in jail again" lyrics.

there is no mention of a longline skinner on the track but i know fred swapped lyrics around on certian tunes.

yes thats right, BUT i dont think that many people mix the words up as much as fred did.

some tunes he totally ripped apart like "lord im in jail again" / "going down south gonna carry my whip" for example.
