Some acts you might like - New Record label

Postby BILR » Tue Sep 29, 2009 8:03 am

Hi All

just wanted to let you know about our little record label that we've set up to show how diverse the genre of "blues" can be

www.bluesinlondonrecords.com is a label trying to support original artists and trying to remove the stigma that blues and roots music has had over the past few years

we've got some great little acts on board, with lots more to follow

so please take a look , listen and maybe purchase something if you like what you here

all support is greatly appreciated

many thanks

Sounds to me like somebody not talking out of their mouth  Could I be permitted a guess at the words having been written by a culturally deprived conformist?

Be nice, y'all.

I know people who don't know blues, and think it's all boring, sad music sung by old men. I suppose that could be seen as a "stigma." They need exposure to the good stuff.

Good ol' Rico.I think you got the stigma.
Not everyone knows it's not 12bars and waking up in the morning. Though that sounds like an awful end to a pub crawl:P

I've seen people who had been happy and dancing etc walk away from a blues stage once they found out what it was that had been making them smile. Uttering the immortal line "I can't stand blues". :?

thats what I'm saying some people think that blues is regimented old mans music and won't even give it a listen , but we all know there is a lot more too it than that , which is what we're trying to show on our lable ............... thats what i was getting at
maybe not clearly enough!

I'm happy to see anyone bringing the blues to a wider audience, and I like to see people giving it their own personal twists and innovations (though some obviously will fall short of the mark.) The "Blues Police" who think everything has to be frozen exactly as it was 50-80 years ago are the ones responsible for the "stigma."
