After a request from the wife I've been searching for tabs of "Ain't no sunshine when shes gone" by Bill Withers. Not stricktly a blues tune but I have to keep her happy you know. Any links would be helpful. Thanks

Don't have any tabs, but I came up with a pretty good version playing around tuned in D minor a while back. I'm messing with it in A minor right now. A bit different pattern, but that's what I'm tuned in.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure this one will jump out at me some time when I'm just messing around.

It does just kind of jump at you. Open A minor works great for it. EAEACE. Hint: The first note of the melody is on the open string 4, the second "E" above.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON Sep-02-04 AT 09:23 PM (EST)]Well, duh! This is a harmonica tabs forum, isn't it? Sorry about that! But my fellow
plank spankers will doubtless enjoy messing around with that. Think I'll record it.

Well hey, you got me messing around with it in A minor, and I really like it! Thanks for the nudge. :)

Hey ric, after your comments on A minor I got out my Lee Oscar in F#m and there it was. Everything just fell into place. That minor key harp has such a mournful sound that it worked perfectly, at least it sounds good to a novice like me. I've even tabbed it out, at least in pencil. Maybe someday I'll get it on the computer. Thanks for the chat.
