over blows

ok harpers do we have to start over blowing to be great harpers now did the old masters do this or is this something new . sounds like i will be messing up perfectly good harps working on them.seriously guys im working on this to be able to hang with the Jason riccies of the world .or better take the harp to the next level.man lot to learn about this old harp but we love it :lol: good harpin guys

You might as well learn 'em if you're hellbent on learnin' yer instrument, but nobody'll miss 'em if ya' don't play 'em. It depends on the market you're in and if you think it'll help your band compete for gigs. There's plenty of great harpers who never use 'em. IMO Jason Ricci's got a style of his own anyway..kind of a John Popper who makes sense (and that statement does Jason a horrible injustice), in that he can play alot of notes that say something and doesn't try to be a little Little Walter. Overblows can help get a crowd goin' at times.
