1, What is a good general setup

2, 6 pod 2.0/ will this let me directly put a mic in to my computer and do you have any recomendations

3, Any advice to not pick up breating noises when recording

you can record a few different ways, the simple way is to plug right into your pc with a radio shack adapter wire that will go from 1/4 mic plug to 1/8 pc sound card wire.

To get fancy you can put a mixer in between that adapter wire and the pc and adjust your levels and all that good stuff.

you dont really need a pod or any sort of couple hundred buck electronic gismo they will add fx and all that but its really not needed.

To record with on your pc you will need a software like, cool edit, adobe audition, free audicity, etc. this software will allow you to record mix, adjust, add fx, and do what ever you need to before saving it as an mp3.

The breathing noise is all you, you have to control that part just dont breathe too loud directly into your mic so much.
